Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 have already hit the retail stores, and right after a few days of their launch, the company has started rolling out the first software update for the latest folding phones in the US.
Specifically, the latest software significantly integrates the July 2025 Security Update, while it will be the first for the US-based Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models; however, the devices have already received the update in Europe.
At the same time, the update for devices has been identified with the version numbers F966USQS2AYGG and F766USQS2AYGD, respectively, and is now available for the Verizon carrier-locked devices in the US.
Usually, the security patches are only meant to increase system security and don’t bring any major features or changes.
Meanwhile, the current software update offers improvements for the device’s overall security and core functionality by integrating a bunch of key fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that have been addressed in earlier versions to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against sophisticated threats.
At the same time, the update further adds stability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations that eventually lead to a smoother, more stable, and more efficient experience for the users.
Well, the latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models apparently became the first ever folding phones that debuted with the latest Android 16-based One UI 8, out of the box, and thus, indeed, they are packed with some amazing features and upgrades. However, the Galaxy S25 series has started testing the 4th beta of the newest OS; at the same time, Samsung is yet to reveal the exact launch timeline for its new major software.
