Samsung is planning to phase out its traditional “Plus” model from its flagship lineups like the Galaxy S series and Galaxy Tab series, as the report says.
Usually, Samsung introduces three models under its flagship Galaxy S-series and Tab series, including Base, Plus, and Ultra. For instance, earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 series, including three models: Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, a few months later, the company added one more device to the lineup called the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Now it seems that Samsung is looking forward to ditching the Plus model from the upcoming flagship series, such as the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Tab S11. Samsung is supposed to launch the next-generation Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, regarding which it’s predicted that the lineup could not include the Plus variant.
A few days back, it was reported that the company could replace the Galaxy S26+ with the Galaxy S26 Edge; however, it’s not confirmed yet. Recently, three variants (including Base, Edge, and Ultra) of the coming series were spotted online, and the absence of the Plus variant hints that the rumors could come true. Meanwhile, a reliable insider, Digital in an Instant” claims that the upcoming Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Tab S11 series will not include a Plus model.
According to the report, the Galaxy S26 series will include three models, which are as follows:
- Galaxy S26
- Galaxy S26 Edge
- Galaxy S26 Ultra
Apart from these three models, the tipster also mentioned that “There is also an S26 FE.”
Whereas the Galaxy Tab S11 series is also expected to launch by the end of this year, which is also reported to have three models, as mentioned below—
- Galaxy Tab S11
- Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra
- Galaxy Tab S11 Lite
However, Samsung hasn’t released any official statement regarding ditching the Plus variant from its upcoming series. It will be interesting to see what happens next and whether the report will come true.
