Galaxy Z Fold 5 spotted with One UI 8, hints development in progress

Samsung’s current One UI 8 development progress looks impressive despite delays that have happened with One UI 7 since its initial days. While so far, various Galaxy devices have appeared on test servers running Android 16-based One UI 8, this time, the reports mentions the Galaxy Z Fold 5 spotted with the latest test build for the first time.
After making its appearance on the Geekbench platform, According to the report via Tarun Vats on X, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 models spotted with the One UI 8 internal test build on the official servers.

More specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 carries F946BXXU5FYG2 version number and this spotting indirectly suggests that Samsung has started preparing the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 version for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 models as well.
Meanwhile, several more Galaxy devices have already been spotted running the latest One UI 8 build, where some of them includes Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, S22 series, Galaxy S25 Edge, and the Fan Edition model Galaxy S24 FE.
Well, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are the first foldables to debut with One UI 8 version that will run Android 16 on top and is considered as the most refined and upgraded version of One UI 7 update. Some of them include, Quantum Security suite for Galaxy devices, improved battery backup, improved spam call protection, enhanced Secure Folder and its apps, enriched Audio Eraser for more clearer sound across more apps and much more.
