Samsung’s Q2 2025 operating profit is predicted to fall

Samsung Electronics seems to be struggling to earn the targeted profit, as its operating profit is decreasing with every quarter. Let’s take a closer looks at the metrics.

We just hit the third quarter of 2025, and the last quarter for the Korean tech firm ‘Samsung’ doesn’t seem to be good, as a new report predicts lower profits. During Q1 2025, the company officially posted an operating profit of KRW 6.7 trillion, which was quite better than the previous quarter.

A new prediction from Hankyung claims that Samsung’s operating profit during the Q2 2025 will be KRW 1 trillion, which is a great fall compared to the first quarter of this year. If the report comes true, then the company will face at least a fall of 15%, standing at KRW 5.7 trillion (~$4.2 billion).

According to the report, there are a few major reasons behind this massive fall in earnings: the targeted profit; for instance, the drop in profitability of smartphones, TVs, and home appliances due to the tariffs imposed by the US on foreign products, and increased logistics costs. Another reasons seems to be the company’s delay in supplying Nvidia with 5th-gen 12-layer high bandwidth memory (HBME) and slump in the semiconductor market.

However, it seems that the company could raise its profit this quarter as it is all set to launch the next-generation Galaxy devices, including Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip FE, Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, which could increase its profit.
