After the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has reportedly started developing One UI 8 for the Galaxy S23 models, as the latest build has just surfaced on the internal test servers.
So far, a few major flagships, including the S22 series, Z Fold 5 models, and Galaxy S25 Edge, and the S23 units have also appeared running the Android 16-based One UI 8 version internally, as shared by Tarun Vats on X.
According to the information shared, this is the first ever One UI 8 test build spotted for the Galaxy S23 series online on Samsung’s test servers. This newest test build carries build number S91*BXXU8EYFB, where the last four letters are EYFB. At the same time, it eventually suggests that the new build found hints that Samsung has already started developing and optimizing the latest One UI 8 for the S23 series as well.
With that said, as Samsung moves closer with the development of the Android 16-based One UI 8 build for more Galaxy devices like flagships, foldables, and tablets, it suggests that it is possible that the company is smoothly reaching towards an official One UI 8 release, and the fans could see the stable build much earlier than expected.
Well, it’s obvious that Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8 version will run Android 16 on top; thus, alongside various essential and interesting features or changes of One UI, the newer version will pack various key capabilities of Android 16 to offer a smoother UI, improved home screen and lock screen customizations, an enhanced overall app experience, and much more.
Also, while the Galaxy S25 series owners are only running One UI 8, it’s currently not possible to predict any exact timeline of the launch, as it’s all up to Samsung what it decides, but it’s looking like the Galaxy audience will be able to experience the latest version much sooner than expected.
