Samsung Sleep Apnea Feature makes its reach in more European markets on Galaxy Watches

Samsung is expanding the reach of its convenient health feature, Sleep Apnea, in 34 new European markets, and also in Australia & Singapore.

Samsung offers a Sleep Apnea feature on Galaxy Watches via the Samsung Health Monitor app, and now it is available in a total of 70 markets all over the world, as the company has expanded its availability in over thirty-four new markets.

Sleep Apnea is a detection feature that utilizes accelerometer data to detect breathing disturbance during sleep, and it can also analyze data and notify users in case consistent signs of sleep apnea are detected.

The company has decided to make it available in more markets, since the feature’s receipt of CE (Conformité Européenne or European Conformity) marking for the European Economic Area. The CE revealed that Samsung meets the health, safety, and environmental protection standards of the European Union, which results in reinforcing its leadership in sleep technology.

On the other side, the feature is also approved by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration and Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority, Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Brazil’s health regulatory agency ANVISA, and Health Canada.

Noticeably, this watershed builds on Samsung’s groundbreaking De Novo authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and sets a benchmark, being the first of its kind for a wearable device to detect signs of moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea
