Samsung dropped software support for these Galaxy devices in June 2025

Samsung has always prioritized its Galaxy device’s security, while also delivering the security updates constantly. Meanwhile, Samsung is giving a final goodbye to a few of the Galaxy devices with the latest June 2025 security patch.

For years, Samsung has followed a specific pattern where when the older Galaxy models reach their deadline of receiving any crucial software update in the future; the company removes the devices from the SMR list forever.

Since the company provides software updates according to the software update policy, and once the device’s update support eligibility reaches its deadline, the company ends the software support and never offers any update in the future. This eventually helps Samsung in maintaining the update cycle for its Galaxy devices.

With that said, now that the latest June 2025 security patch bulletin has arrived, which reveals that Samsung has ended software update support for a few of its Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and Galaxy M42 5G. Thus, Samsung has finally dropped the support for all three Galaxy devices and now they are ineligible to receive any further security patches in the future.

Well, Samsung introduced Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, Tab S6 Lite and Galaxy M42 5G in the year 2020-2021 and were only capable of receiving major OS update and are already out of security patch update as they reach the deadline.
