It’s confirmed: Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Galaxy Z Flip 7 to run One UI 8 out of the box

Finally, Samsung officially confirmed that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will run One UI 8 based on Android 16 out of the box.

The seventh-generation foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, are scheduled to launch at the Unpacked event sometime by mid-July. Initially, it was expected that the comping foldables would run Android 16 out of the box, and the report comes true, as the company officially confirmed this.

This means that the coming foldables will be the first device to launch on One UI 8 (Android 16) out of the box. On the other hand, Samsung also opened the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in several countries together, including the US, UK, Germany, and South Korea.

While announcing the beta program, Samsung also revealed the plans to introduce the stable One UI 8 build later this summer, shipping it out of the box on its upcoming foldables.

Although Samsung hasn’t mentioned the specific name of the foldable device, it’s clear that the phones are the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The company officially mentioned: “Thanks to the mutual partnership between Samsung and Google, One UI 8 will debut on Samsung’s newest foldables this summer and will gradually expand to more Galaxy devices so users can now enjoy an enriched, more personalized mobile experience with the latest version of Android.”
