Android Auto is getting ready for a more awesome Multimedia experience

Google has recently concluded its I/O event, where the company not only shows off the future of enhanced driving experience for Android Auto owners, but also marked some new yet interesting features that are supposed to arrive in future updates. One of them is the arrival of a revamped multimedia experience on Android Auto.

Well, the Android Auto platform is all set to get back its light theme after years. Google is readying Android Auto for an interesting makeover, where the company will ensure a more improved user experience when using the multimedia apps.

Android Auto Media feautres

Basically, the media apps constantly featured a simple yet sophisticated design, which is going to change now. First up, Google showcased that the media apps are now dissolved within a specific layout, named SectionedItemTemplate, where apps get divided into various different sections that consist of a Recent Search and a list of Albums underneath.

On the other hand, the next change brings a new MediaPlaybackTemplate and is, however, for developers, which will allow them to perform certain changes in the media player UI like repositioning the media controls, or customising their order.

Beyond this, another key change for the developers comes within the Android Auto’s Car App Library. This will eventually allow developers to expand the library’s design and usability to offer a rich and convenient user experience, out of the box. However, Google is yet to specify any timeline regarding the feature, but it’s confirmed that the change will arrive on Amazon Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music first.

Well, in addition to the light theme, Google is also working on adding climate controls, adding the ability to play Android games when the vehicle is parked and more. Also, more enhancements and changes will arrive on Android Auto in the future update.
