Samsung could use an older processor to power the Galaxy Watch 8 series

Samsung is supposed to debut the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the Unpacked event in July, and it is also anticipated not to upgrade the processor inside the watches.

The company is looking forward to expanding the wearable family by debuting new devices. Recently, it has launched a new limited-edition Galaxy Ring in a two-tone titanium black color alongside the Galaxy S25 Edge. Now it’s setting up to introduce a new smartwatch series that will include two models, which are as follows –

  • Galaxy Watch 8
  • Galaxy Watch 8 Calssic

A report from Android Authority now reveals that Samsung is not planning to upgrade the processor inside the Galaxy Watch 8 series, and will offer the Exynos W1000 processor, which is already powering the Galaxy 7 series.

Reportedly, a new code listing linked to devices with the codenames Fresh 8, Fresh 8 Small, and Wise 8, all of which are believed to correspond to the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic.

Its highly anticipated that Samsung will use the Exynos W1000 processor to power the upcoming watch series, since there’s no other successor of this chipset yet. Recently, a Galaxy Watch 8 Classic CAD render leaked online, which revealed that it has a squircle body like the Galaxy Watch Ultra and features a physical rotating bezel.
