Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge is rumoured to be joining the standard variants of the lineup and could feature a new 50MP main camera.
Samsung will debut its next-generation Galaxy S26 series next year at the Unpacked event. Usually, the company introduces three models in its Galaxy S series, including Base, Plus, and Ultra. A few days back, it was reported that Samsung could replace the Plus model with the Edge in the Galaxy S26 series. If the report comes true, then the Galaxy S26 line will include Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 Edge as the successor of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which features a 200MP main camera. But the company could degrade the Galaxy S26 Edge’s camera by offering it a 50MP main lens.
Now, a reliable tipster, @Jukanlosreve, shared a post on X, claiming that, “NEXT YEAR’S S26 VANILLA AND EDGE MODELS WILL FEATURE A 50MP 1.0UM SENSOR FROM SONY.”
If the report comes true, then the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Edge could feature a 50MP sensor from Sony. However, the tipster didn’t mention the Galaxy S26+, which hints that the Edge model could replace the plus one.
Since this report is based on leaks, trusting blindly is quite difficult at least now, but it remains to see exactly what will happen next.
