Google confirms Project Moohan XR headset launch timeline

Samsung is aggressively working on its first-ever headset, Project Moohan. Meanwhile, Google has confirmed the headset’s launch date.

Under the hood, the Korean tech giant has been working on its Project Moohan for so long to launch this year. Earlier this year, the company offered the first glimpse of the headset at the Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy S25 launch.

A few days back, it was also reported that Samsung confirmed to unveil Project Moohan XR Headsets at MWC 2025, but that’s not the case, since the event has already been done successfully from 3rd March to 6th March 2025.

Recently, Google successfully held its I/O event, at which it announced that Samsung will launch its Project Moohan based on Android XR, “later this year.” However, the Korean tech giant has still not released the official and exact launch date.

Noticeably, it’s also announced that Project Moohan will be the first device in the market to run Android XR. Samsung is anticipated to price the headset somewhere between $2000 and $3000.

Since Samsung has yet to release the official details of the coming headset, it remains to be seen exactly what will happen next and what new novelties it will bring. The company is also rumored to launch its Smart Glasses in 2026 with deeper AI integration.
