Samsung expands May 2025 update for Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6 across the US

Samsung is still continuing with the May 2025 security patch, and various Galaxy phones, tablets and foldables have already received the update so far. Meanwhile, the company has started expanding the software for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 to more regions, other than South Korea.

The flagship foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 units, have started receiving the May patch in the US and is currently available for both the carrier-locked and unlocked units across the US.

The carrier-locked (T-Mobile, USCellular, MetroPCS, and AT&T) Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 models are identified with the build numbers, F956USQS2BYE2 and F741USQS2BYE2, respectively. At the same time, the carrier-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 come with the build numbers F956U1UES2BYE3 and F741U1UES2BYE3, respectively.

As usual, the latest update is just a minor security patch that; however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; instead, the update significantly focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality. It includes a lot of key bug fixes for all the security vulnerabilities that have been addressed in earlier versions in order to offer a more secure user experience, while also protecting the phone against certain potential threats and risks.

Moreover, the update further adds stability and reliability to the entire system behavior and brings certain performance optimizations that eventually helps users to have a more smooth, stable and optimized experience.
