Samsung’s Now Brief Adds “Heads up” like alert for Safer Walks

Samsung is extending its Now Brief’s convenient feature list as it is adding a new functionality similar to Digital Wellbeing’s Heads Up feature.

Initially, Samsung introduced the Now Brief feature exclusively on Galaxy S25 smartphones with One UI 7. Although, later than the company has expanded it to the Galaxy S24 devices and is also looking forward to extending the availability on more eligible devices.

Now Brief offers a personalised daily briefing with updates, schedules, and reminders, all displayed in a visual format on the lock screen, and now Samsung is adding one more functionality to enhance users’ experience.

A new report from one of our reliable colleagues, Android Authority, revealed that Samsung is adding a new functionality similar to what Google introduced a few years back to its Digital Wellbeing called Heads Up, that prompts users to focus on their surroundings if they use their phones while walking.

Now Brief heads up card

Now Brief on your Galaxy devices prompts you not to look at your phone continuously for a long time while walking. You will receive a card: “For your safety, don’t look at your phone too much while you’re walking.” The card will also inform you exactly how much time you have spent looking at your phone while walking in a week, with a bar displaying that time as a percentage of the total time you spent walking that week. This new integration will prevent you from staying focused on your phone while walking.
