Samsung has finally released the details of the latest May 2025 security patch as a part of its monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) for all of the eligible Galaxy smartphones, tablets and foldables.
The new SMR package integrates security patches that have been brought by both Google and Samsung collectively.
More specifically, the latest Android Security Bulletin from Google brings a total 58 high level CVEs, 7 CVE items that have already been included in the previous updates, and lastly, 4 CVEs has arrived that are not applicable to Samsung Galaxy devices.
At the same time, the May 2025 patch further introduces Samsung Semiconductor patches that consist of 2 High-level CVEs as well. Accompanied by Google and Samsung Semiconductor patches, Samsung Mobile itself integrated 20 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. This includes patches for more improved settings in Galaxy Watch, Wi-Fi connectivity, notification history and more.
This eventually helps users to have a more smooth and efficient user experience, while also improving the device’s overall security and core functionality.
Moreover, following the similar pattern for years, Samsung, this time as well, ended the software (security patches) support of the Galaxy A52 4G Enterprise model and Galaxy A82 5G. This means that these devices will not receive further patches in future.
