Samsung ends software support for Six Galaxy devices in April

Samsung has shared the details about the April 2025 security patch for the Galaxy devices that will enhance the overall security of the devices.  The update is part of a monthly maintenance program which brings fixes for security as well as bring more consistent performance.

Before exploring the unsupported devices, let’s take a quick tour of the April 2025 security patch. With the latest update, there are a total 56 fixes for the devices, where Google has introduced 42 patches, while 14 are added by Samsung to its Galaxy devices exclusively. These Galaxy devices are no longer eligible to get any update

Samsung has delisted five Galaxy devices from its latest April SMR:

  • Galaxy S20
  • Galaxy A32
  • Galaxy F62
  • Galaxy M62
  • Galaxy A72
  • Galaxy A52 5G Enterprise Model

Apart from delisting the device from the software support, there is one reshiting is also done, Actually, Galaxy XCover5 has shifted Quarterly update from the monthly update eligibility.

Samsung software support criteria

Samsung follows a strict software policy for each of the devices, which can be different according to the segment. For instance, Galaxy S series devices generally get maximum software updates because of the flagship segment, while other devices get lesser updates. So based on software policy, the company ends the support once the device reaches to the end.
