Latest Android Auto 14 version hints that Google plans to replace Assistant with Gemini

Android Auto has successfully attained a new version, 14.0which has already started rolling out for all the users. However, as usual, Google doesn’t list any major features or changes via the changelog; a dive alongside the latest version eventually revealed that Google appears to be ditching Google Assistant in order to optimize Gemini in Android Auto.

Google is working on replacing Android Auto’s Google Assistant with Gemini, all thanks to the images and string codes discovered by our colleague at 9To5Google!

While the latest Android Auto 14 stable version is in the process of reaching all the users worldwide, it was discovered that the update consists of a new message for Android Auto users that says, “Gemini is now the personal AI assistant in your car,” suggesting that Google is planning to swap Assistant with Gemini.

Alternatively, a few survey question prompts were also noticed around Gemini; however, the Gemini service is not yet available when tested in the latest version, making it very clear that Google is still working on this capability and, of course, for a wider Android Auto 14 update rollout as well.

In the previous versions, Android Auto received plenty of useful features and changes, with the most recent one being the occurrence of climate controls in the Android Auto 14 version; however, it remains to be known when Google will implement these features in Android Auto.
