Samsung’s Galaxy AI Eraser Sets a New Standard in Photo Editing on S25

Samsung Galaxy S25 series brings several upgrades, improvements, and countable features, including Galaxy AI Eraser to add an extra layer of advancement to the editing experience.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy AI Eraser with the newly launched Galaxy S25 series, which aims to remove unwanted elements from your photos, but they approach the task differently. The Galaxy AI Eraser leverages the power of generative AI to deliver a significant difference, especially while dealing with complex backgrounds or objects.
Although there’s one more option called Object Eraser, which is a more traditional approach, it crucially tries to patch or clone pixels from the surrounding area to fill in the gap left by the removed object. It bears a resemblance to the digital version of the clone stamp tool in Photoshop.

The AI Eraser typically results in a clean removal in just one or two attempts, whereas on the comparison side, the Object Eraser often requires a few more steps to reach a comparable result. A watermark indicating “AI-generated content” marks the newly generated image, as the AI Eraser generates new content.
You can easily use the Galaxy AI Eraser by navigating: open an image in the Gallery, tap the Gallery AI icon, draw a lasso around the area you want to edit, and move or delete as per your convenience.
Noticeably, it is quite possible to be confused between the Galaxy AI Eraser and Object Eraser, as both sound similar and result in slightly the same; both features have their dedicated functionalities.
On the compassion side, the Apple Intelligence object eraser simply messes up things, as it is unable to match the edge of the Galaxy AI Eraser and Object Eraser since it is not compatible with generating faces; this suggests that Samsung leads the game.
