Samsung One UI 8 (Android 16) May Help Prevent Call-Based Scams

With the advancement of technology, scammers always try to bring new traps or tools to scam smartphone users. Most of the time they psychologically trap you and steal your data on calls, so while identifying the severe security issues, Google is about to launch its new security tool with Android 16 to block the access of app installation during phone calls. These new Android 16 security features could also arrive in Samsung devices with the One UI 8 skin.

How Android 16 prevent users from scamming during phone calls

During phone calls, scammers use some traditional techniques, such as asking for OTP on the basis of fake stories or sometimes ask you to tap on certain links, but now these scamming practices are being old With the advancement, new scammers are involving newer techniques to install harmful applications on your phone.

So to prevent users to accessing any threatful application from the external sources, Android 16 is all set to introduce blocking sideloading of applications on your Android phone during phone calls.

According to the report (Via Android Authority), a new security feature was discovered in the beta 2 update where it seems like with Android 16 Google will bring new security features that will automatically be active when you are on call and it will restrict you to sideloading applications from external sources.

However, the report further claims that to take advantage of new feature, user will need to activate it first via settings. More specifically, the setting name as special app access. At the same time user who enabled the advanced protection mode cannot turn the toggle on for security reasons
