Samsung One UI 7: New Features Coming Soon to Galaxy S24 and S23 Series

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series is now available in stores for sale worldwide, with Android 15-based OneUI 7 being the biggest factor that is aligned with plenty of significant features and changes out of the box.

Although the stable One UI 7 release is delayed further, as the fourth beta of Samsung’s software skin is arriving for the Galaxy S24 series next week, the S24, alongside S23 series owners, might be curious to know the features that will be distributed with the new major OS update once fully prepared and available.

While One UI 7 itself is considered the biggest update in Samsung’s history ever, more enhanced Galaxy AI features have been the spotlight of the entire update. Apart from this, Samsung tunes up certain settings and customizations in order to offer a more refined user experience to its older Galaxy audience.

Since there are some key features, Galaxy AI is currently only exclusive to the Galaxy S25 smartphones that are free, while these functions might fall under a paid subscription by the end of 2025; thus, not all the features and functionalities will be distributed for the S24 and S23 series users, including Galaxy AI.

Samsung Galaxy S24 and S23 Series to include these following One UI 7 Features in addition to the Galaxy AI:

Much improved Circle to Search

Samsung first offered Circle to Search with the One UI 6.1 version alongside the Galaxy S24 series. This feature substantially lets users search for anything and everything present on the page by making gestures like drawing a circle or simply highlighting the object whose information users want without having to close the current page and switch to other apps.

With One UI 7, Samsung has refined the overall Circle to Search functionality by expanding it to more eligible Galaxy apps that significantly include finding a place, searching for a phone number, and more.

Now Bar and its companion: Now Brief

One UI 7 highlighted a new streamlined notifications system named Now Bar, which allows users to directly engage with some key information right from the device’s lock screen.

As a dynamic interface for live activities that is displayed at the bottom of the lock screen in a pill-shaped bar, users will get crucial details from certain functions, such as Clock (stopwatch and timer), Bixby, SOS, Interpreter, Google Maps, Samsung Health, Voice Recorder, and Notes, at a glance. This helps users eliminate the need to unlock the phone to see it every time.

Now Bar has a companion feature, Now Brief, which enhances its intelligence. The Now Brief feature provides a comprehensive daily summary of the functions supported by Now Bar.

The Now Brief adds a more secure and personalized functionality; it helps users to start their day with a morning brief, get their scheduled reminders, and more, while also adding post-quantum cryptography that offers an extra layer of security for users’ data insights against potential threats. New Tools to Enhance Productivity

Samsung can add a few productivity tools that have arrived with One UI 7, including Call Transcript, Writing Assist, and Drawing Assist, which aim to provide seamless communication and creativity while also enhancing productivity. Apart from this, there is an Audio Eraser feature that can easily reduce unwanted sounds in videos like background voice, music, or wind.

AI-based Multitasking

As Samsung has replaced its proprietary AI assistant Bixby with Google Gemini, users can now perform multiple tasks at once. Samsung has significantly upgraded the AI assistant, also known as Gemini AI, to perform actions more quickly and efficiently. Besides that, Samsung will gradually integrate the Gemini-based Galaxy AI features into more apps or functions of Galaxy devices, including the Now Bar.

Upgraded and more enhanced privacy management

With One UI 7, Samsung upgraded security by integrating a Personal Data Engine that aims to advance security measures in order to protect personal data at every step with transparency and integrated security settings. This avoids potential threats while on-device data processing. Apart from this, the update further adds a few additional layers of security, like maximum restrictions to upgrade user control and enhanced data privacy.
