Galaxy S26 Series Tipped to Feature Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is anticipated to debut in early 2026 and could be powered by the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.

Samsung is all set to debut its Galaxy S25 series today at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, which will be powered with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and run Android 15-based One UI 7 out of the box.

Before the official launch of the Galaxy S25 series, leaks have already started reporting regarding the future Galaxy S26 series. It was recently reported that Samsung plans to offer a massive camera upgrade with the Galaxy S26 Ultra by introducing a 200MP telephoto lens. A new report suggests that Samsung could go with Qualcomm’s chipset again.

A tipster, Jukanlosreve, claiming that Samsung could use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset to power the Galaxy S26 series. The chipset is rumored to be manufactured using the TSMC 3nm (N3P) process; this suggests that Qualcomm is still not ready to rely on Samsung Foundry for chipset manufacturing.

Reportedly, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 could boost CPU performance by 20% as compared to its predecessor and offer notable GPU upgrades to enhance the gaming experience.

Initially, Samsung was rumored to use an in-house Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy S25 series, but due to 3nm yield concerns, the plan couldn’t be implemented. However, the company is expected to power the seventh-generation foldable device with the Exynos 2500.
