WhatsApp Lets You Mention Contacts In Status Updates

WhatsApp is back with a new beta update to enhance and upgrade the users’ experience by offering a new feature to mention contacts in status updates.
WhatsApp, with this new update, offers a new feature named’status mention’ that will permit users to mention contact in status updates. The update has arrived with its identification build number, which is 2.24.6.19. For now, the update is in the developing stage, so interested beta users can easily get the update from the Google Play Beta Program.
WhatsApp is actively working on a feature to mention contacts in status updates. As mentioned, users are directly notified when they are mentioned by others. The aim behind this new feature is just to offer the ability to directly involve particular contacts in their status updates.
However, this feature is not the latest, as Meta users are already familiar with it on Instagram as a ‘@mention’ option in a story or post. But on Instagram, users can give mentions back to someone who mentions them in the story. At the moment, nothing more is clear about this feature—whether it will offer the same functionalities and features as IG or not.
The feature to mention contacts is still in the developing stage and only available in the beta stage, but it is expected that soon the brand will make the update available to all in future updates.
