LG Display is providing the OLED screens for both versions of the iPhone 15 Pro, and a conditional permission from Apple is still awaited by BOE, which is offering the OLED panels for the smaller iPhone 15 and bigger iPhone 15 Plus. But reports suggest that BOE intended to provide LTPS OLED for the iPhone, but owing to some quality concerns, the supply was not approved. According to the Korean news blog, The Elec, as the supplies of the OLED for the iPhone 15 rise, the South Korean giant’s Display wing is placing more orders for the associated materials and components of the iPhone 15.
The statistics report states that between September and October, Samsung Display placed orders around 20% more in comparison to the previous month, August, and the production of OLED panels drastically increased. Samsung Display is the only one who can provide OLED for the iPhone 15. Four variants, including two iPhone 15 Pro models and two standard iPhone 15 models, will showcase the Samsung Display-manufactured OLED screens. Low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) and low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) OLEDs for the base and plus variants of the iPhone and the power-efficient iPhone Pro and Pro Max versions.
